Hacking A Beginners' Guide to Computer Hacking Basic Security and Penetration Testing (Audible Audio Edition) John Slavio T W Ashworth Abhishek Kumar Books

Knew I was in trouble by page 8. Allow me to quote "Last of all, you may be aware of some illegal software known as warez." - really dude? That's what we're going with?
This is not a beginner's guide to hacking. This is a beginner's guide to understanding stereotypes around hacking. You will gain literally no knowledge about 'how to hack' or anything else - at best you'll learn some terms.
Thankfully it's only 5 bucks and at under 80 pages was finished in 15 minutes. Not one you need on your bookshelf if you're looking to actually gain knowledge.

Hacking A Beginners' Guide to Computer Hacking Basic Security and Penetration Testing (Audible Audio Edition) John Slavio T W Ashworth Abhishek Kumar Books Reviews

I find this ebook very interesting to read. It will help you become a skilled ethical hacker. This ebook will teach you and help you understand the basic principles of hacking and penetration testing. You will be encouraged to become a white hat hacker simply because it helps businesses and organizations in improving their information security. A brief explanation about the steps involving Penetration Testing are also included in this ebook. The ebook also contains a detailed instruction that you won't experience any problem while practicing and honing your hacking skills. After reading this ebook you will discover the best hacking tools that are available today. This ebook is very educational and a good source of information. Highly recommended!
This book seems to be a great start for people who are interested in learning more about the world of computer hacking. My son is interested in being a professional White Hat and this would have been great information to get him started. He knows most of what is in the book already, but for those that are just getting interested, or involved, it seems to be a great resource. I think that there needs to be a bit more on the right and wrong of hacking and what can happen to you if you're on that negative side. Too many people think that they won't get caught and laws need to be changed for computer trespassing versus in person...in my opinion.
Hacking A Beginners' Guide to Computer Hacking, Basic Security and Penetration Testing (How to hack and secure your computer for beginners, Arduino, python Book 1)

Ok, I read the reviews at . I work in the IT field for a financial institution, so security is paramount. My take away from this ebook was if you are reading it to begin a career as a hacker, then you may be disappointed. This ebook has some very good information for individuals who understand computers, but are not too tech savvy. It does describe the different types of hackers and some of the tools that are used. To most of us in this field especially if you are responsible for protecting sensitive data you are familiar with these tools/software.

If you are curious how easy it is to glean information about anyone in this digital world, then this is a good read. If you want to try some of the tools on your home/PERSONAL network, all good. Don’t go trying this on your business or company network. Hire a professional for penetration testing. Or use this on your home network and gradually gain knowledge and get training either online at accredited online institutions or attend seminars offered by companies that offer security tests for businesses.

Now for my thoughts on the bad part of the book. I am not a grammar nazi. I make a lot of grammatical mistakes, in my writing. It does irritate me to find it in print, in a book or a news story. This ebook has a few mistakes that had me re-reading the sentence a couple of times. Whoever proofread the manuscript failed to catch these. Maybe they also work for few online news companies or my local Television station ( see several mistakes in tweets and online copy ).

The good; an easy read. Information is presented in an orderly fashion. No real tips on exactly how to perform any hacking. (did you really expect there to be?) I did enjoy the ebook. It will work for me as a training tool when describing how easy you can be duped at the local coffee shop enjoying your overpriced java while reading the online news or checking your company email.

I give it three stars for what I believe is a decent attempt to provide some information without giving away the farm. Apparently there are several copies of this book with different covers on . I am not really sure why there are more than one, but there are.
I love it
Great book! I had earlier researched on hacking and this sorts, but this book was really helpful in describing all of the different hacking methods and how to perform as well as defend against them. I primarily found the defense good because I recently was hacked by Russians and a worm was put in my computer.
This is a good information book it will not teach you how to be a hacker or a least how to get into somebody's computer but it will give good information about what's a hacker.
Is a little bit poorly written (not that I'm a good writer but it's just the fact that when you publish a book you should send it to somebody to check it for you) other than that is the easy type to read book (like a novel) and if you find the topic interesting (and you still don't know this information) it will keep you glued to it
I will recommend this book to people who have interest on what's going on around them on the world and want to have just the basic information about what's a hacker
This book was not as detailed as I was expecting it to be and does need to be edited for mistakes. Also at some points, if you do not have previous programming experience/knowledge, you may be lost. However, if you are looking for a quick and easy way to understand the basics of hacking or how your system is vulnerable as well as some background of hacking, then it is not a bad read. As always, you should never hack with the intention to do harm or anything illegal.
